[London : for J. Tonson & J. Watts, 1718]. A delightfully engraved scroll-style road map from the scarce early set of road maps published as “A Pocket Guide to the English Traveller”. The road from Gloucester via Huntley, Lea, Ross-on-Wye, Much Birch, Hereford, Birley, Pembridge, Presteigne, Knighton and Clun to Montgomery. The map is dedicated to the Hon. George Caswal.
Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 172 x 270mm (approx. 6-3/4” x 10-5/8”). A few tiny nicks to edges, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique map.

London & Liverpool : George Philip & Son, [1861]. A handsome Victorian map of Wales issued in Philip’s series of “Travelling Maps” – the country depicted at a scale of six miles to the inch. Dated by the National Library of Wales to 1861 and depicting Merionethshire before the railways reached Barmouth and Dolgellau in the 1860s.
Lithograph on paper, with full original hand colour. Printed surface 665 x 513mm (approx. 26-1/8” x 20-1/4”). Dissected, mounted on linen, and folding into the publishers’ cloth gilt case; slight wear to case; map faintly spotted in places, but a very good example. A guaranteed genuine antique map.

[London : 1694?]. A charming and rare small map of Glamorgan by John Seller. Originally produced for a set of maps which first appeared under the title “Anglia Contracta”, dated to between 1689 and 1694 by Skelton and generally ascribed to somewhere near the latter date. The maps in their original form were subsequently reissued a number of times between 1696 and 1711, with the present example dating from no later than 1697.
Copper line engraving on paper. Original hand colour. Engraved surface 108 x 144mm (approx. 4-1/4” x 5-5/8”). In very good and clean state. Of extreme rarity with original colour. A guaranteed genuine antique map.
