[London : Samuel Lewis, 1831 (or later)]. A neat and clear antique map of Rutland, compiled by Roger Creighton and engraved by the admiralty engravers John and Charles Walker. Originally produced for the “Topographical Dictionary” published by Samuel Lewis of Aldersgate in 1831.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 230 x 175mm (approx. 9” x 6-7/8”). Faint crease toward upper margin, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed antique map.

[London : George Virtue, 1831]. A fine antique map of the county, decorated with five coats of arms, an ornate pillared and strapwork border, and inset views of Burleigh House, Normanton Park and Empingham. Originally engraved by James Bingley (1796-1869) in 1831 for Moule’s part-work series “The English Counties Delineated” (1830-1837) – and here in very early state, before the later additions.
Steel line engraving on paper. Original hand colour. Engraved surface 252 x 190mm (approx. 9-7/8” x 7-1/2” ). A few faint marks and specks, but overall in very good and clean state. Rare in this early state and with original colour. A guaranteed genuine antique map.

Decorated with five coats of arms, an ornate pillared and strapwork border, and inset views of Burleigh House, Normanton Park and Empingham. Originally engraved in 1831, the present version, showing slight revision, is dated to about 1845.

London : Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown & Co., 1845. A clearly engraved map of the county from the Admiralty engravers John & Charles Walker – on a scale of approximately 11/16 of an inch to the mile. Originally published in 1835, but here in a later and updated version dated 1845 in the plate.
Line engraving on paper, with original hand colour. Engraved surface 335 x 377mm (approx. 13-1/4” x 14-7/8”). Folding into a contemporary glazed paper case with printed label; in very good and clean condition. A guaranteed genuine antique map.
