London : Vernor, Hood & Sharpe; and W. Cooke, 1811. A delightful antique print of early nineteenth-century Henley – the bridge and the town from the Thames. Etched by William Bernard Cooke (1778-1855) from an original study by Samuel Owen and originally produced for Owen’s first series of Thames views – “The Thames” (London : 1809-1811).
Etching and line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 130 x 193mm (approx. 5-1/8” x 7-5/8”). Trimmed a little tight; a couple of minuscule spots, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 106/016.

London : Tombleson & Co., [1833]. A handsome antique print – a view of Henley from the river – small craft on the water – a fishing party on the bank – the bridge and the square tower of St. Mary’s prominent. An attractive engraved decorative border features swans, fronds, palmettes, etc. Engraved by Robert Sands (1782-1855) from an original design by William Tombleson (fl.1823-1841) and originally published with the part-work series “Tombleson’s Views of the Thames and Medway” (London : 1833-1834).
Steel line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 164 x 204mm (approx. 6-3/8” x 8”). A few tiny specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 178/007.

The view is set within an intricate decorative border. Engraved by Robert Sands (1782-1855) from an original study by William Tombleson (fl.1823-1841) and originally published with the part-work series “Tombleson’s Views of the Thames and Medway” (London : 1833-1834).
