BARTLETT, William Henry, 1809-1854 : FELIX HALL, ESSEX. SEAT OF LORD WESTERN TO WHOM THIS PLATE IS RESPECTFULLY INSCRIBED.

London : George Virtue, 1833. An attractive antique print of Felix Hall near Kelvedon, then owned by Lord Western of Rivenhall – a view of the house from the grounds – visitors admiring the gardens. Engraved by Henry Adlard (1799-1893) from an original study by William Henry Bartlett. Originally produced in 1832 for “The History and Topography of Essex” and here in second state, now dated 1833 and with a change to the title marking the elevation of Charles Challis Western to the peerage.
Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. Engraved surface 112 x 158mm (approx. 4-3/8” x 6-1/4”). A few tiny specks, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.
