CALLCOTT, Sir Augustus Wall, 1779-1844 : HORNSEY. 1826. London : Longman & Co., J. & A. Arch & G. Cooke, 1826. A finely worked antique print – a funeral takes place at the old church of St. Mary Hornsey shortly before it was largely rebuilt. Muswell Hill can be seen in the distance. Etched and engraved by George Cooke (1781-1834) from an original drawing worked up for publication by Augustus Wall Callcott. A pleasant antique print – a view of the old parish church (St. Mary) and the adjacent buildings – trees and open fields beyond – two horses in the forefround. Engraved by Samuel Turner Sparrow (fl.1784-1810) from an original drawing by William Ellis.
