A handsome antique print – the Elizabethan mansion of Franks Hall near Farningham, as restored by Robert Bradford and Frederick Power in the nineteenth century – a view from the Darenth. A technically highly accomplished production, colour printed in eight or more overlays from separate wooden blocks by Benjamin Fawcett (1808-1893) from original draughts (drawn on the wood) by Frank Lydon. Originally produced for the Francis Orpen Morris part-work “County Seats of the Noblemen and Gentlemen of Great Britain and Ireland” (1864-1880).
