London : R. Baldwin, 1773. A finely-worked small antique print – the heraldic arms of the City of London, flanked by their dragon supporters, shown between the arms of Westminster and Southwark. Engraved by the elder Barak Longmate, heraldic engraver and editor of “The Pocket Peerage”. Originally produced for John Noorthouck’s part-work “A New History of London including Westminster and Southwark” (1772-1773). Copper line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 56 x 132mm (approx. 2-1/4” x 5-1/4”). A few faint marks to outer margins, but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print. Adams 51.
