[Amsterdam : 1616 (or later)]. A delightful early miniature map of the Americas from Petrus Bertius, complete with a sea-monster and a vast uncharted antarctic continent. Originally produced for the “Tabularum Geographicarum Contractarum Libri Septem” published by the younger Hondius at Amsterdam in 1616.
Copper line engraving on paper. Old light wash colour. Engraved surface 94 x 133mm (approx. 3-3/4” x 5-1/4”). In very good and crisp state. A guaranteed genuine antique map. Burden 183.

[Amsterdam : D. M. Langeveld, ca.1790]. A scarce and attractive late eighteenth century Dutch map of the Americas from D. M. Langeveld (fl.1785-1798). Neatly engraved, with just a touch of rococo flourish about the title panel.
Copper line engraving on paper, with original hand colour. Engraved surface 180 x 216mm (approx. 7-1/8” x 8-1/2”). Old folds (one rather heavy), but otherwise in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique map.
