PUGH, Edward, 1763-1813 : WESTMINSTER FROM LAMBETH. London : Richard Phillips, 1804. An attractive antique print – a prospect of Westminster from Lambeth Walk – the river at high tide. The scene takes in – from left to right – Westminster Abbey; St. Margaret’s church with its flag; Westminster Hall with its turrets; the trees of the Speaker’s garden, with the Houses of Parliament beyond; the tower and cupola of the Horse Guards; the spire of St. James Piccadilly; the Banqueting House; Westminster Bridge with St. Martin in the Fields and St. Giles beyond; the pyramidal tower of the Hungerford Water Works; Adelphi Terrace, and the lofty Drury Lane Theatre with its tower.
