TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This is the website of Laurence Worms trading as Ash Rare Books, 43 Huron Road, London SW17 8RE – a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association (ABA).

All transactions are governed in the first instance by the extensive Code of Good Practice of the ABA. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under UK law which are fully guaranteed.

All prices are nett and do not include postage and packing. All transactions are conducted in £ sterling.

All purchases must be paid for in full at the time of ordering unless you have an approved credit account. Credit terms are settlement within thirty days of the date of invoice, unless specifically agreed otherwise at the time of the sale. All goods shall remain the property of the vendor until payment has been made in full.

Authenticity & Descriptions
All items carry a full and unequivocal guarantee as to their authenticity. The condition of all items is as described on the website. Unless otherwise stated, all books are First Editions or First British Editions; complete as to text and plates; bound in the original cloth or boards; published in London and in very good or better condition. Description of condition makes the customary allowance for age and format.

Availability
All items are offered subject to prior sale. The website is carefully kept up to date but there will on occasion be an instance of an item already having been sold. No contractual liability shall arise in such an instance.

Returns Policy
Any item may be returned if you are not satisfied with it providing we are notified within fourteen days of your receiving it. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under UK law for returning the item outside this period. We do insist, however, that items are returned promptly in the same condition and by the same means as that by which they were sent. Your postage costs and any payment already received will be refunded immediately on our receipt of the items in satisfactory condition.

Shipping
Postage or shipping will be at the customer’s expense and the customer will be notified of the exact amount. UK consignments will normally be sent within forty-eight hours of payment by first-class mail and will normally arrive within two or three days of despatch. Overseas shipments will normally be sent within forty-eight hours of payment by air-mail and will normally arrive with three to ten days of despatch depending on location. Unless otherwise instructed, all shipments are insured in transit at our expense.

Payment may be made by:

1. Credit card. Credit Card payments are processed in pounds sterling.

2. Cheque. Please make payable to Ash Rare Books.

Cancellation Policy
Orders may be cancelled without penalty at any time prior to despatch of the items ordered, which is usually within one working day. For items already despatched, see our Returns Policy above.

We take your privacy seriously and take all measures to protect your personal information. Any personal information received by Ash Rare Books will only be used to fulfil your order and make shipping arrangements. We will not sell your information to anyone.
