London : Faber & Faber, (1957). First edition : [one of 2,000 copies]. His uncommon first book - a collection of forty poems, dedicated to Sylvia Plath, whom he had married the previous year. An attractive association copy - the review copy sent to fellow poet Roy Fuller (1912-1991), with the publishers' review slip, Fuller's pencilled notes on the reverse of the slip, and his inked ownership inscription. Fuller's review appeared in the "London Magazine" in January 1958.
Demy 8vo (23cm). [ii],(60),[ii]pp. Original blue cloth, lettered in yellow; a very good copy in the Berthold Wolpe dust-jacket - also very good, with some minimal restoration to tips. Sagar A1.

London : Faber & Faber, (1992). First edition. A presentation copy, inscribed by Ted Hughes to John [Griffin], press-secretary to the late Queen Mother, signed with forename, and dated May 1992. The gift was in remembrance of Hughes' visit to Birkhall, the Queen Mother's Scottish estate, earlier that month - "when everybody had such a good time - except the fish, who missed the party". Three of the poems in this collection were written specifically for the Queen Mother, in honour of her 85th and 90th birthdays, etc.
Medium 8vo (25cm). [x],64,[vi]pp. Original blue boards, lettered in gilt; a very good copy indeed, in the gold and blue patterned dust-jacket, also very good indeed.
