"MORAC, Jules-Jean" : NO PRUDE.

London : Harborough Publishing Co., [1952]. First edition. Minette Floucher waits for her boyfriend at the Gard du Nord. The second of the seven or so Harborough titles put out under this nom-de-plume - ostensibly a translation from the French, but there would appear to be no editions in French and, for all the glamour of the potted biography on the lower wrapper, the author is unknown to the Bibliothèque Nationale.
Crown 8vo (19cm). (160)pp. Original pictorial stapled wrappers - a typical design by David Wright (1912-1967), signed with initials; some light wear and mild creasing; very faint fringe of pale discolouration to upper wrapper and spine; text lightly tanned; a few leaves with chips to margins, not affecting text; a good copy.

SOLD

"MORAC, Jules-Jean" : MR. BERTRAND AND THE BLONDE.

London : Harborough Publishing Co., (1952). First edition. Brutal father expels his pregnant teenage daughter - "Mona Bertrand has gone there where the gutter is: the gutter where she belongs".
Crown 8vo (19cm). 160pp. Original pictorial stapled wrappers - an unsigned design by David Wright; some very minor wear; slight creasing to upper wrapper, but otherwise a very good copy.

"MORAC, Jules-Jean" : PLAYING WITH FIRE.

London : Harborough Publishing Co., (1953). First edition. Marie Guillon plays fast and loose with French railway regulations, finding the first-class passengers more "interesting" than those in third.
Crown 8vo (19cm). (160)pp. Original pictorial stapled wrappers - a design by David Wright, signed with initials; slight wear and slight darkening to spine; faint diagonal crease to upper wrapper; a few spots, but otherwise a very good copy.

SOLD

"MORAC, Jules-Jean" : THE LIE OF LOVE.

London : Harborough Publishing Co., (1953). First edition. Nellie Koreman does not join in the celebrations as France is liberated - too much of her innocence has been lost in the war.
Crown 8vo (19cm). (160)pp. Original pictorial stapled wrappers - an unsigned design by David Wright; small chip at foot; minor scuffing and creasing; tiny nick to lower wrapper, but overall a very good and clean copy.

SOLD

"MORAC, Jules-Jean" : THE LIFE OF TILLY LAGOURD.

London : Harborough Publishing Co., (1953). First edition. Apparently the last of the Morac titles: a lonely man contemplates suicide, but decides instead to adopt a girl from the streets.
Crown 8vo (19cm). 158,[ii]pp. Original pictorial stapled wrappers - a stylish design by David Wright, signed with initials; lightly rubbed and a little creased; a few faint marks; staples rusting, but otherwise a very good copy.
