WHITTOCK, Nathaniel, 1791-1860 : HORSHAM. WITH A VIEW OF LEITH HILL, SURREY.

London : I. T. Hinton, [1830]. An attractive antique print – a view of Horsham in the early nineteenth century – the parish church of St. Mary dominating the scene. Engraved by John Rogers (1800?-1882) from an original study by Nathaniel Whittock. Originally produced for the partwork series “Picturesque Beauties of the Counties of Surrey & Sussex” (London : 1829-1831).
Line engraving on paper. Engraved surface 110 x 158m (approx. 4-3/8” x 6-1/8”). A few tiny specks to outer blank margins, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique print.

Southampton : Ordnance Survey Office, [1868]. A map of Horsham and its environs at a scale of one inch to the mile, taking in Rusper, Itchingfield, Slinfold, etc. Produced by the Ordnance Survey in connection with the parliamentary boundary alterations of 1868, the map is coloured to show the existing 1832 boundary, the proposed new boundary, the municipal boundaries and the parish and township boundaries.
Zincograph on paper, with original hand colour. Printed surface 332 x 220mm (approx. 13” x 8-3/4”). Trimmed tight at foot; a few tiny marks; short tear at one margin, just touching the map; slight creasing, but overall in very good and clean state. A guaranteed genuine antique map.
